When the Ospreys Fly Out, the Eagles Move In

This video appears to be of a juvenile eagle relentlessly picking away at a fish. Thanks to Pam Risdon of Risdon Photography (www.risdonfoto.com) for sharing it with us. Strangely enough, it seems that the grand bald eagle--emblem of our country--is intimidated by ospreys. When the ospreys come back to Colonial Beach in the spring, eagles tend to move out, returning after the ospreys leave in late September. They are one of the birds to look for and enjoy from autumn through spring in Colonial Beach.
