Food for Every Taste in Colonial Beach

Although seafood is the star of Colonial Beach cuisine, there are a range of delicious options to enjoy. Many are now open for take- out or delivery. There are Asian restaurants including Hunan’s Diner offering Chinese cuisine and delectable sushi on Tuesday evenings. OomBoon specializes in Thai and French cuisine, as well as sushi and Suki the Thai Restaurant also offers Thai, French and Sushi. A newly opened restaurant Huasteca has brought Mexican cuisine to town. Willie’s Barbecue on the Boardwalk obviously offers barbecue for sale, but also comfort food that will warm body and soul. Raven’s Point also offers barbecue and lots of other kinds of yummies.

American diner-style food can be found at Lenny’s, a favorite breakfast and lunch place, and now The Ice Cream Shop on Colonial Avenue and the Boardwalk offers breakfast and lunch as well as hand dipped ice cream.

Speaking of ice cream, all summer Nancy’s, a institution in Colonial Beach offers soft serve and anything delicious you can make with it from their distinctive red and white truck.

There’s traditional pizza and Italian food at Ledos in the Beachgate Shopping Center, more Chinese and a new sandwich shop getting lots of raves, Crazy Jack’s.

Restaurants famous for their seafood include Wilkerson’s just outside of town and one of the best sites for watching the ospreys as you dine. High Tides can found on the boardwalk overlooking the Potomac. Dockside is at the tip of the ”Point” where Monroe Bay enters the Potomac River. And the Riverboat on the boardwalk has a large glassed in dining room over the Potomac plus dining on their deck.

Denson’s Farm to Table Restaurant downtown does outdoor lunches from its catering truck and visits sites throughout the area. 

Residents and visitors also enjoying congregating at two town coffee houses, Julie’s in the Tides Inn and Market open Friday thru Sunday and Colonial Buzz Expresso Bar open weekday mornings. 

The Tides Inn and Market is a place for light bistro fare and scrumptious desserts Thursday through Friday evenings often accompanied by music.
